Most advanced Emergency Services Operations Qualifications

require this course and it is only offered once or twice per year locally.

COURSE DESCRIPTION	The Incident Command System (ICS) is the national standard to manage emergency incidents and critical events, and is a key component of NIMS. This course expands upon the information covered in ICS 100 and ICS 200 courses and is for personnel who require advanced application of the Incident Command System. The course will satisfy state training requirements for incident responders and will fulfill the prerequisite for attendance in higher level ICS courses (ICS 400). As part of NIMS compliance requirements, Delaware requires all personnel that are likely to assume a supervisory role in expanding incidents or Type 3 (or higher) incidents attend this level course.
COURSE OBJECTIVES	· Describe how the NIMS Command and Management component supports the management of expanding incidents · Describe the incident/event management process for supervisors and expanding incidents as prescribed by the Incident Command System · Implement the incident management process on a simulated expanding incident · Develop an Incident Action Plan for a simulated incident
PREREQUISITES	Introduction to NIMS IS 700 Introduction to NRF IS 800 Introduction to NIMS ICS IS 100 Basic Incident Command NIMS ICS 200
TARGET AUDIENCE	The primary audience is response personnel, regardless of discipline, who may be required to fill a supervisor, director, chief, or command role within the Incident Command System during larger incidents. These groups include first responders, state/local government and agencies, and emergency management personnel.
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC	No
COST/MEALS	The training and course materials are provided at no cost to the state, local organization or responder. Funding for travel, accommodations, are not provided for this training opportunity. A meal is provided during the third day of this course.

DANG Communications classes a success despite the impending weather

Friday evening we taught a B-CUT class and had thirteen members of the Delaware Wing obtain that qualification.

Saturday morning we had fifteen students for the A-CUT class and ten passed the written test.
That test is very difficult and requires either a complete knowledge of two CAP regulations or the ability to search the regulations to answer the questions on the open book test. Many students did not let us know they were coming so we could not warn them how to be prepared.

I have offered to have them come to a DANG meeting to retake the test or to go to their squadron meeting to give it there for those who failed the test.

DANG Squadron records its first FIND 13 June, 2011

Members of the DANG UDF team were alerted at 1000 hours to assemble a UDF team to locate an ELT in the area of the New Castle Airport. Captain Hotchkiss, 1st Lt Ted Petroulis Jr, C/CMSgt Conor Hotchkiss, and C/SSgt Brandon Petroulis went in service from Wing HQ at 1100 hours.

LTC Kibler and Col. Harris served as joint IC's and Captain Schmidt served as Ground Branch Director. The ground team made several direction finding readings at the airport before being tasked to rendezvous with a CAP aircraft that had found a strong signal on the north end of the field. The ramp was searched and the signal was triangulated with the help of a 2nd L-Per and the DF (Direction Finder) from the aircraft. The ELT was located in an aircraft in the hanger at approximately 1233 hours at the FBO (Fixed Base Operator) and deactivated. The team stood down at 1330 hours.

2011 Survey Audit complete

Thank you to the entire DANG Team for the recently completed Survey Audit. The Survey Audit is an inspection by the USAF of equipment and vehicles in the Wing and 2 randomly selected squadrons. DANG was one of the two squadrons selected for this years audit. DANG had no findings reported and was 100% compliant. Special thanks to Captain Seidle and Lt's Petroulis and McCray.

There seems to be a LOT of confusion about which ribbon goes where and which side is up. There are several "Rack Builders" on-line but I like this one from the McCord Composite Squadron the best.

Delaware Air National Guard Cadet Squadron, Delaware Wing, Squadron Members Attend Promotion Ceremony for BG Carol Timmons

On Saturday May 14th, members of the Delaware Air National Guard Cadet Squadron were in attendance at the promotion ceremony for Brigadier General Carol Timmons. BG Timmons has been a supportive voice for Civil Air Patrol in Delaware. Her efforts were instrumental in the establishment of the Delaware Air National Guard Cadet Squadron and their use of the facilities at the Air National Guard base.

BG Timmons is the first female Brigadier General in the history of the Delaware Air National Guard. She is a decorated aviator having been the first female rotary wing Army aviator in the Delaware Army National Guard and later after transfer to Air Force, a C-130 pilot with the Delaware Air National Guard. BG Timmons earned a Bronze Star for directing 700 troops through months of close air support, air drops, search and rescue and medical evacuations across Afghanistan, and for her work to improve air drop practices in the region.

BG Timmons is also an inductee of the Delaware Aviation Hall of Fame.

Annual Rocket Launch attended by several Cadets

Lt. McCray loaded nine cadets from DANG and New Castle Cadet Squadrons, one bottle rocket and one high powered rocket in the big van and headed for Cape Henlopen on May 7th. The crowd was way off in numbers but several comments were heard from both Park Officials and others from the State about how well behaved and helpful ALL of the cadets from the Delaware Wing were.

My name is Bruce Thompson and I am on the board of directors of the Aero club of Pennsylvania and am also a scholarship trustee. Every year we give out scholarship monies for those individuals aspiring for a career in aviation (pilots / mechanics). It would be greatly appreciated if the PA Wing would forward this message to the your squadrons in the Delaware Valley region.

As a former CAP cadet and presently an Airbus pilot for USAIRWAYS and the Chief of Staff of the Delaware Air National Guard I too received a scholarship like this at the age of 18 and it helped to foster my aviation career.
